As part of the larger Moore Foundation’s Building Resilience to Wildfires initiative, a team of students in the Master of Environmental Data Science (MEDS) program produced a new climate tool for creating climate scenarios as their Capstone Project – “Automating Climate Scenario Creation for Wildfire Modeling“. The team created an interactive web application to efficiently construct customized climate scenarios from Cal-Adapt data. This tool can also format the data for input to the RHESSys-WMFire model, which can then be used to predict potential fire regimes and impacts. The interactive web application will soon be publicly available for use.
